The Cuestonian is open for the Spring 2020 semester.
The four credit course is 15 weeks and begins Tuesday, Feb. 10 at 11:30 a.m.Â
Lectures are Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. – 12:35 p.m. with additional lab hours required.
When looking at the Cuesta College Class Finder, students might notice that there are multiple classes available. New students should sign up for Intro to News Production (JOUR 202A) and in following semesters can sign up for News Production (JOUR 202B/C). If students are more interested in multimedia production, it’s recommended they register for JOUR 203A.
Reporters will gain experience and learn some exciting and useful media production skills, including:Â
- news writing
- editingÂ
- newspaper design elements
- time management
- teamworkÂ
In addition, students will learn how to use Adobe Suites’ many useful programs, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, and much more.
The class has multiple positions open, including reporters, editors, designers, photographers and videographers.Â
