At around 1:40 p.m. on Nov. 12 the power at Cuesta College went out.Â
Some classes were cancelled and many students left campus. The electricity returned about 10-15 minutes later for Cuesta College. Cal Poly lost power as well.
It appeared that the blackout at Cuesta College was part of a larger series of blackouts that mainly affected PG&E customers in cities including Cayucos, Atascadero, Templeton, Cambria, and Baywood.Â
According to PG&E spokeman Mark Mesesan, the power outage affected approximately 19,300 people in the region. PG&E is currently investigating an equipment issue at its electrical substation in Templeton.
