Cyrus Saatsaz is a Society of Professional Journalists award winner in Online News Reporting, the author of the book Dogwild & Board: Stories, Interviews and Musings from a Surf Journalist, a reporter for KCBS All News Radio, a podcast host for the Bleav Podcast Network, and a journalism professor for Cuesta College, Saint Mary's College of California, Moorpark College and San Jose State University.
Saatsaz was formerly a senior editor for USA Today; a multimedia journalist for The Huffington Post, Sports Illustrated, Yahoo Sports, the Adventure Sports Network and the San Francisco Chronicle; the social media manager for nonprofit news organization inewsource; hosted nationally syndicated action sports radio talk shows called WaXed and The Extreme Scene on ESPN radio; and is the former owner of San Francisco Surf Company, an eco-friendly surf shop/bookstore/art gallery located in San Francisco. Saatsaz was a sports broadcaster and Creative Director at KNBR radio for nearly a decade, and the webcast commentator for the Maverick's Surf Contest.
Saatsaz was formerly a journalism professor at Laramie County Community College, the University of Houston, and San Diego State University, and loves teaching students the great power and responsibility that comes with mass media.
