Mena Rafiee is a 39-year-old English major, who is focusing on different writing techniques in order to enhance her love of poetry, and writing. In her writing she explores the experience of the human condition, as well as the many possibilities of reality. In the early 2000s Mena attended Cuesta College right out of high school, during that time she focused on attaining an AA for transfer, which she was successfully gained in 2003, however, instead of tranferring she completed Cuesta College's Psychiatric Technician program. Mena worked at Atascadero State Hospital just 5 months shy of 10 years. During those early years she also had three children. Her oldest daughter is currently attending Chico State University, and due to Covid-19, Mena is now homeschooling her two youngest children, who will be 13, and 10 this year. When Mena is not focused on her academic goals, she writes for her blog, and enjoys all things outdoors, mostly camping, and hiking in areas that are best known for their spiritual energy. Mena has lived in Paso Robles for 33 years, and has enjoyed watching her small community transform. As a returning student to Cuesta College she is excited to bring her knowledge, and love for writing and her community to the Cuestonian.
